EU - Two New Restriction Intentions

Two new restriction intentions were added in the first half of October.

1. Lead and its compounds

ECHA is proposing to restrict the placing on the market and use of lead in ammunition (gunshots and bullets) and fishing tackle. The assessment will cover the use of lead in gunshot in terrains other than wetlands, bullets used both in wetlands and in terrains other than wetlands as well as lead in fishing tackle.

Expected date of submission: October 2, 2020.

2. Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), including benzo[def]chrysene, dibenz[a,h]anthracene, benz[a]anthracene, chrysene, benzo[j]fluoranthene, benzo[e]acephenanthrylene, benzo[k]fluoranthene and benzo[e]pyrene

France is proposing to restrict the placing on the market of disposable baby diapers containing the following chemical/chemical groups, such as, PAHs, formaldehyde, dioxins, furans, PCBs, etc
