EU - Postponing the Expiry Date of Approval of Magnesium Phosphide for Use in Biocidal Products

​The approval of magnesium phosphide for use in biocidal products of product-type 18 ​iInsecticides, acaricides, and products to control other arthropods)​ will expire on January 31, 2022. On July 28, 2020, an application was submitted in accordance with Article 13(1) of Regulation (EU) No 528/2012 for the renewal of the approval of magnesium phosphide.

​On October 1, 2020, the evaluating competent authority of Germany informed the Commission that it had decided, pursuant to Article 14(1) of Regulation No 528/2012, that a full evaluation of the application was necessary.

Consequently, ​the approval of the active substance for use in biocidal products of product-type 18 is likely to expire before a decision has been taken on its renewal. Therefore, the expiry date of approval of magnesium phosphide for use in biocidal produts of product-type 18 is decided to postpone to July 31, 2024.
