EU - New Version of Toy Safety Standard EN 71-2:2020

​The European Commission has published the new version of toy safety standard, EN 71-2:2020. It has been approved by CEN. This new version will supersede the current version of EN 71-2:2011+A1:2014.
This has still not yet been harmonized to the toy safety directive so that only EN 71-2:2011+A1:2014 is considered as the mandatory standard to show compliance with the toy safety directive.

However, it is expected that EN 71-2:2020 is to be cited in the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU) within 2021.
