EU - European Commission Approved Ozone Generated from Oxygen as an Active Substance for Use in Biocidal Products

The European Commission released an Implementing Regulation on June 5, approving ozone generated from oxygen as an active substance for use in biocidal products of the following product-types with specific conditions:

Product-type 2 - Disinfectants and algaecides not intended for direct application to humans or animals
Product-type 4 - Food and feed area
Product-type 5 - Drinking water​
Product-type 11 - Preservatives for liquid-cooling and processing systems​

Date of approval: 1 July 2024

Expiry date of the above approval: June 30, 2034
