Expert group EK5/AK1 “Scaffoldings, Ladders, and Stepstools" updates the below test principle:

EK5/AK1 17-04.03:2021-08:

Test Principles for the Safety of Single or Multiple Hinge Joint Ladders

(Previous: EK5/AK1 17-04.2:2020-02)

Main changes compared to the previous versions are:

- Paragraph 1-4.8 changed and replaced by requirements of EN 131-1:2015+A1:2019
- Paragraph 5-9 supplemented by tests of EN 131-4:2020
- Paragraph 10-17 changed and replaced by requirements of EN 131-4:2020
- EK5/AK 1 Decisions 126 deleted

- Decision No. 127 added:

Deviation in the range of the functional dimensions for single and multi hinge joint ladders according to EN 131-4:2020

- Decision (02.08.2021) No. 128 added:

Testing of the automatically locking joints of ladders according to EN 131-4:2020

- Decision (02.08.2021) No. 129 added:

Enquiry about the design for the simultaneous use of steps and rungs within one riser of a ladder

- Decision (02.08.2021) No. 130 added:

Cross-sections for wooden rungs (EN 131-2:2017-04, 4.7)

The above mentioned test principles are valid from 2021-08-01.

Implementation category C: implementation after max. 3 months, old certificates cancel within 5 years.
