EU - Draft RoHS Exemption for Lead and Cadmium in Recovered Polyvinyl Chloride in Electric Doors and Windows

​EU drafts a RoHS exemption for lead and cadmium in recovered polyvinyl chloride (PVC) in electric doors and windows. Cadmium and lead in plastic profiles containing mixtures produced from PVC waste used for electrical and electronic windows and doors, where the concentration in the recovered rigid PVC material shall be

1. < 0.1% by weight of cadmium
2. < 1.5% by weight of lead

​As the restriction of lead in PVC will be implemented on May 28, 2026, suppliers of PVC articles containing recovered rigid PVC with a concentration of lead ≥ ​0.1% by weight of the PVC material shall be marked with the statement visibly, legibly and indelibly "Contains ≥ ​0.1% lead".
