EU - Draft Commission Delegated Regulation Amending for the Purposes of its Adaptation to Technical and Scientific Progress, Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 on Classification, Labelling and Packaging (CLP)

The European Commission has proposed an amendment to the Annexes of the Classification, Labelling and Packaging (CLP) Regulation (Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008) to further align EU rules on the classification, labelling, and packaging of chemicals with the United Nations' Globally Harmonized System (GHS).

The initiative updates the CLP Regulation to reflect GHS Revisions 8, 9, and 10, incorporating the latest scientific knowledge, technical developments, and international experience in chemical hazard classification and communication.

It also partially implements GHS Revision 11, including updated provisions for aerosols and skin sensitizers in mixtures, with the aim of enhancing the protection of human health and the environment while supporting international regulatory harmonization and trade.
