EU - Detailed Rules for Determining the Weight of Waste Single-use Bottles

​The EU Commission sets out detailed rules for determining the points where the weight of the collected waste single-use bottles is measured; how to apply the two alternative methods of determining the amount of such single-use bottles placed on the market (Article 9(1) of Directive (EU) 2019/904 (SUP Directive)); and the reporting format. It is to ensure comparability and accuracy of the data.

For example, the weight of caps and lids shall be included in the weight of the waste single-use bottles but the weight of the remaining beverage shall not. ​

The Decision shall enter into force on the 20th day following that of its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union (i.e. October 24, 2021)
