EU - Amendment of Information Requirements Under REACH

In June 2019, the European Commission and the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) concluded in the REACH Evaluation Joint Action Plan that certain information requirements in the Annexes to REACH Regulation should be amended to provide more clarity on the obligations of registrants regarding the submission of information.

Requirements concerning the general registrant information, you may now only provide name, address, telephone number and email address, fax number is no longer necessary. And substance identification information which a registrant is to submit for general registration purposes, laid down in Annex VI to REACH Regulation are also amended.

There are also amendments in Annex VII to X which are certain specific rules for adaption from the standard information requirements. This is to align the terminology of the classification of hazardous substances to that used in Annex I, part 2 to 5 to the EU CLP Regulation.
