Ecuador - Technical Regulation RTE INEN 247 (1R) "Safety and Energy Efficiency Requirements for Instantaneous Water Heaters"

The Subsecretariat of Quality of the Ministry of Production, Foreign Trade, Investment and Fisheries published the First Revision (1R) of Ecuadorian Technical Regulation RTE INEN 247 "Safety and Energy Efficiency Requirements for Instantaneous Water Heaters".

The regulation establishes the requirements to be complied by instantaneous water heaters, prior to their commercialization in order to protect human safety as well as prevent misleading practices.

This technical regulation doesn't apply to electric storage water heaters.
