Ecuador - Draft First Revision of Ecuadorian Technical Regulation PRTE INEN 264 (1R) "Safety, Protective, and Work Footwear"

​The Ministry of Production, Foreign Trade and Investments has announced a draft First Revision of Ecuadorian Technical Regulation PRTE INEN 264 (1R) "Safety, Protective, and Work Footwear".

This Ecuadorian technical regulation applies to the following products, whether domestic or imported, that are marketed in Ecuador.

This Ecuadorian technical regulation does not apply to: 

- Firefighter footwear; 

- Electrically insulating footwear; 

- Footwear for protection against injuries caused by chainsaws;

- Footwear for protection against chemicals and molten metal splashes; and 

- Protective footwear for motorcyclists.
