China - Regulations for Direct Connection of Terminal Devices to Satellite Services

The main points are as follows:

1. This regulation applies to domestic and foreign entities that provide terminal equipment direct satellite connection services within the territory, use terminal equipment direct satellite connection services within the territory, and produce, assemble, provide and sell terminal equipment that supports domestic direct satellite connection services.

2. For terminal equipment connected to the domestic public telecommunications network and uses radio frequencies within the country, it shall obtain relevant licenses and approvals in accordance with the provisions of the "Telecommunications Regulations of the People's Republic of China" and the "Radio Management Regulations of the People's Republic of China".

3. The terminal equipment direct connection satellite service and terminal equipment used in China can only be connected to satellite communication systems legally operated in China.

4. The Regulation shall come into force on June 1, 2025.​
