China - Notice on Implementation of Certification of Displays
On April 26, 2024, China Cybersecurity Review, Certification and Market Regulation Big Data Center issued a Notice regarding the implementation of displays according to GB 21520-2023. Summary as follow:
1. From the date of issuance of the notice to May 31, 2024, enterprises can voluntarily choose to apply for certification based on the new version of the standard or the old version of the standard. Starting from June 1, 2024, the China Cybersecurity Review, Certification and Market Supervision Big Data Center will accept certification applications for display products based on the new version of the standards, conduct certification evaluations, and issue new version of standard certificates.
2. For products certified according to the old version of standards, certified enterprises can submit an application to the center for conversion to a new version of certificate. After passing the certification evaluation, a new version of certificate will be issued. Certified enterprises should complete the conversion to the new certificate after the standard implementation date and before the first follow-up inspection. The conversion of the old version of the certificate should be completed before May 31, 2025. If it is not completed after the deadline, the center will suspend the old version of the certificate. If the conversion is not completed on August 31, 2025, the center will revoke the old version of the certificate.
3. For applications to convert to the new version of certificate, the product should be tested for energy efficiency according to the new version of the standard - details please refer to the attachment.
