China FCM requirements introduced/TR SH Lab recognised

​Under China's Food Safety Law (FSL) , Food Contact Materials (FCMs) are regulated for food contact products such as:

• Household appliances,
• Commercial kitchen utensils,
• Kitchenware, Tableware,
• Infant and baby products,
• Packaging and containers and
• Food processing equipment

The law prohibits the import, sales and market of food-related products which don't comply with applicable National Food Safety Standards – GB 4806 series standards.

The State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) is tasked with supervision and enforcement activities of FCMs in China market.  

The General Administration of Customs (GAC) is responsible for customs clearance, and the supervision and inspection of imported FCMs. 

Fortunately, TUVR Shanghai FCM lab is already accredited by CNAS (China accreditation body), and has qualification to evaluate food contact products based China national GB series standards and EU regulations. TUVR is able to support for compliance testing reports covering EU and GB as one stop solution testing provider.

If the testing report based on EU regulations is available, our FCM expert could evaluate deviations and conduct partial testing to issue the testing report based GB standards.

The good news is our TUVR Shanghai FCM lab is recently recognized by CQC (China governmental certification body), that means our FCM testing report based on GB standards or EU regulations can be also recognized by CQC, who could issue CQC certificate/Mark (as below) subject to factory inspection.
