China - China RoHS 2026 Catalog: Expansion of Product Scope and Exemption List

​On May 28, 2026, China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), together with seven other authorities, issued the 2026 Compliance Management Catalog for Restricted Use of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Products and the corresponding 2026 Exemption List under China RoHS. Effective upon publication, these documents replace the 2018 first-batch catalog and exemption list. The updated catalog expands the range of regulated electrical and electronic products, with newly added categories required to comply from August 1, 2027. It consolidates the original 12 product types into 10 categories, adds 23 new categories, covers 33 categories in total, updates product definitions and scopes, and revises applicable exemptions.​
