Chile - Resolution 737 EXEMPT modifies Resolution No. 1,985 EXEMPT, of 2017, of the Undersecretariat of Telecommunications, which establishes the technical standard for short-range devices

The Undersecretariat of Telecommunications (Subtel), modifies Resolución N° 1.985 EXENTA (2017), which regulates technical standards for short-range devices. 

The purpose of this amendment is to adapt certification and regulatory requirements to respond to technological advancements, such as the rise in consumer electronics and IoT (Internet of Things) devices, while simplifying some regulatory processes.
- Certification Simplification:
Certification will now only be required for short-range devices intended for medical applications.
Other device categories must provide easily accessible technical information via QR codes on the packaging but are exempt from full certification.
- Mandatory QR Codes:
Manufacturers and importers must include a visible QR code on the packaging for all short-range devices (except those for medical use).
