Chile - Draft Regulation on Safety of Children Products

This draft regulation is a regulatory proposal that seeks to establish the safety requirements of products for children, understood as toys, school articles and childcare articles, which are imported, manufactured, distributed or marketed in the country, with respect to their physical, mechanical, chemical, electromagnetic and flammability properties, including the safety aspects of labeling.

Likewise, and with the purpose of improving the control of products for children's use in the national market, in addition to having traceability with respect to imported, manufactured, distributed and marketed products nationwide, this Ministry of Health together with the Institute of Public Health of Chile, propose to incorporate a system of product quality certification.
