Chile - Amends Exempt Resolution No. 1,985 of 2017 of the Undersecretariat of Telecommunications, which establishes the Technical Standard for Short-Range Devices

Chile’s Undersecretariat of Telecommunications issued Exempt Resolution No. 966 of 20 May 2026, published on May 27, 2026, amending Resolution No. 1,985 of 2017 on the technical standard for short-range devices.

The amendment adds provisions for extremely low-power active implantable medical devices operating in the 9–315 kHz frequency band with a field strength not exceeding 30 dBµA/m at 10 meters, and allows confidential test reports to be submitted via the virtual filing office with the relevant entry number and equipment references.
It also relaxes QR code requirements by allowing flexible size and design choices, provided the code remains readable and functional, with ISO/IEC 18004 recommended as guidance.
