Canada - Consultation on the Revisions to the 2500-2690 MHz Band Plan

​Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED) has launched a consultation to revise the band plan for the 2500-2690 MHz range (2500 MHz band) used for Broadband Radio Service (BRS) and to explore the transition to a new band plan. 

This initiative aligns with the Minister of Industry's responsibility for spectrum management under Canadian legislation, aiming to maximize the economic and social benefits of the radio frequency spectrum while supporting the development of high-quality 5G networks and preparing for future 6G technologies. 

The consultation is guided by the Spectrum Policy Framework for Canada (SPFC) to ensure efficient spectrum use, foster innovation, and enhance wireless services for Canadians.​
