Brazil - Suspension on Implementation Date of New Inmetro Decree 563/2016 for Toys Safety

​The Inmetro (National Institute of Technology, Normalisation and Industrial Quality) published the Inmetro Decree No. 598/2018 suspending the entry into force of the latest  mandatory technical and conformity assessment requirements for toys according to Inmetro Decree No. 563/2016, which were originally issued on December 30th 2016.

The suspension means the previous regulation of toys mandatory safety certification (Inmetro Decree 321/2009) is still required until a new implementation date of Decree No. 563/2016 is published.
