Brazil - Resolution (RDC) No.979/2025 Amendment on Cellulosic Materials and Articles Intended for Food Contact
On June 6, 2025, Brazil Health Regulatory Agency (Agência Nacional de Vigilância Sanitária, Anvisa) published Resolution (RDC) No. 979/2025, introducing amendments to the country’s regulations on cellulosic materials and articles intended for food contact, originally established under RDC No. 88/2016.
Amendment to Item 1.2 of Part II of the Annex in RDC No. 88 / 2016 is as follow.
- It introduces new requirements for the diisopropylnaphthalene content in products made with recycled fibers:
- The diisopropylnaphthalene content in the finished product must be as low as technically feasible.
This Resolution entered into force on June 10, 2025.
