Brazil - CONTRAN Resolution 760:2018 - Mandatory Installation of Seatbelt Non-Fastening Warning Device

On December 20, 2018, the National Traffic Council or CONTRAN has published the Resolution 760 on the Mandatory Installation Requirements for Seatbelt Non-Fastening Warning Device in motor vehicles.

 

The requirements contained in this resolution apply to:

I - Vehicles, vans, pickups, and sport utility vehicles (SUV) as from January 1, 2020;

II - All vehicles from January 1, 2021;

III - Trucks, tractors, recreational vehicles (RV), busses, and micro-busses manufactured or imported for new projects;

IV - All vehicles from January 1, 2023;

For suspension-equipped driver-seat the non-fastening warning device is mandatory from January 1, 2024.

 

Alternatively, U.S. and EU regulations' test reports can evidence compliance to this resolution. See regulations FMVSS 208, and ECE R16, respectively.
