Brazil - CONTRAN Resolution 518:2015 - Installation Requirements and Test Procedures for Seatbelts, Seat Anchorage and Headrests of Vehicles

On January 29, 2015, the National Traffic Council or CONTRAN has published the Resolution 518 on Installation Requirements and Test Procedures for Seatbelts, Seat Anchorage and Headrests of Vehicles.

This resolution repeals resolutions 44 of 1998, 48 of 1998 and articles of 220 of 2007.

The requirements contained in this resolution apply to:

I - new vehicle projects or imported 3 years from the day of release and

II - 5 years from the release of this resolution for production vehicles,

III - can also be adopted partially and totally prior to the abovementioned periods
