Argentina - New Requirements for Recognition of Conformity Assessment Bodies (Testing, Inspection and Certification)

​The Resolution 262/2019 establishes that any certification body, inspection body and testing laboratory, hereinafter named as "Technical Bodies", whose work is intended to act in procedures for assessing the conformity of the technical regulations for products and services that are under the scope of the Ministry of Production and Labor, or the authority that in the future replaces them in their functions, must have their recognition by the applicable Authority of this resolution. In order to obtain the Recognition the Technical Bodies, they must meet the following requirements:

a) Accredited by OAA (National Accreditation Body);

b) Have legal status and qualified staff based in the country;

c) Assume the civil, commercial, administrative and criminal liability arising from the functions for which recognition is granted, and also contract civil liability insurance with a coverage of the risks of the activity.
