Argentina - Draft Technical Regulation and Conformity Assessment Procedure Applicable to Bicycles

​Secretaria de Comercio (Commerce Secretariat) has published the draft technical regulation and conformity assessment procedure of bicycles.

The draft establishes the technical requirements for quality and safety to be met by new bicycles, intended to be marketed in Argentina.

The technical requirements of the products covered by this regulation are complied if in addition to the requirements provided in it, the following technical standards, or those which in future replace them are also complied:

a) Bicycles. Safety Requirements: IRAM 40020
b) Electronically Power Assisted Cycles: IRAM 60020

The regulation also includes labeling and marking requirements..

Public consultation will be open 60 days from its publication.
