Littleton, MA | 24 March, 2023
TÜV Rheinland North America received ISO/IEC 27701 accreditation by National Accreditation Body (ANAB), allowing it to provide certification services to companies interested in complying with the international standard for privacy management and personal data protection.
"We are very proud to have this accreditation in the United States, as it will allow us to help companies of any size and business line to comply with the specific requirements for the treatment of personal data. Likewise, this new service reinforces us as leaders in the Testing, Inspection and Certification (TIC) sector by keeping us constantly updated to always provide an excellent service to our clients, as we complement our portfolio of solutions and this accreditation complements ISO 27001 and ISO20000. “, says XX.
Receiving this ISO/IEC 27701 accreditation is even more relevant nowadays, as cybercrime has increased by up to 600% due to the pandemic, ranging from theft or embezzlement to hacking and data destruction. In addition, it is estimated that by 2025 cybercrime will cost businesses around the world $10.5 billion annually. Also, the cybersecurity market is expected to grow between 12 and 15%.
"With ISO/IEC 27701 certification, organizations can improve the confidence and performance of their management system to ensure that information security requirements are properly considered and managed in all business processes. This has great competitive advantages, as they can avoid financial losses, productivity losses, reputational damage, legal liability and even business continuity issues," explains XX.
In this way, companies can be certain that they have a Management System that complies with international standards and that they will maintain a clear process to deal with any incident that may arise, since it is estimated that if the cyber-attack breach is contained in less than 30 days, companies can save more than one million dollars, compared to those that take more than a month to contain it.
With this accreditation, TÜV Rheinland North America reaffirms its mission to make the world a safer and more sustainable place. As such, this service will be available to any organization that is interested in complying with global standards and thereby protecting its operation.
