TÜV Rheinland Attended 2025 Asian Humanoid Robotics Technology Conference

Greater China | 29 September, 2025

On September 25th and 26th, TÜV Rheinland Greater China, the international independent third-party testing, inspection, and certification organization, participated in the 2025 Asian Humanoid Robotics Technology Conference in Shanghai, China to showcase the solutions for global market access, compliance, and technological innovation for humanoid robotics. The conference gathered robotics experts and industry leaders in Aisa to discuss cutting-edge trends and key topics, and explore opportunities and challenges in humanoid robot technology.

Expert Analysis of AI Compliance Paths to Support Global Market Entry

During the conference, Dr. Wang Cuiyu, Scientist of TÜV Rheinland Greater China Electrical, delivered a presentation titled Robots Going Global: Navigating the Paths to Global AI Compliance. Based on TÜV Rheinland's extensive experience supporting global companies, she provided an in-depth analysis of the latest requirements and challenges facing the humanoid robot industry under major global regulations on AI, with a focus on EU AI Act. She analyzed the AI system risk classification and management framework, as well as the compliance obligations for high-risk AI systems, offering solutions for companies to build a compliance management system throughout the product lifecycle.

Dr. Wang emphasized that the EU AI Act is applicable to a wide range of product types, including machinery, radio equipment, toys, etc. This act covers the responsibilities of multiple parties in the AI value chain, including developers, deployers, product manufacturers, importers, distributors and authorized representatives. She advised companies to establish a compliance management system covering the product life cycle to tackle market entry barriers, enhance product safety and improve market competitiveness.

Discussing Industry Future, Emphasizing Safety and Industry Collaboration

In a roundtable discussion, Dr. Wang Cuiyu joined Tang Ren, Investment Director of Xuanyuan Capital; Liu Yin, Assistant to the Chairman of NBIT Nanjing Shenyuansheng Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd.; and Zhao Weichen, Vice President of Booster Robotics. They addressed key topics, including the ultimate form of humanoid robots, supply chain collaboration, and application scenarios.

As an expert in AI compliance, Dr. Wang offered insights on AI compliance management and technical standardization. She suggested that companies need to build a reliable and trustworthy technical framework and prioritize collaborative development with upstream and downstream enterprise. She recommended that companies should consider AI compliance costs and timelines from the early stages of R&D. Additionally, she emphasized the importance of close collaboration with industry partners on data application, technology development, and compliance management to effectively address increasingly stringent international regulations on AI.
