Simmpo Obtains TÜV Rheinland’s 90% Blue Light Reduction Certification, Reflecting a High Standard in Eye Protection

With the market flooded with uneven-quality anti-blue light products, consumers often find it difficult to judge real effectiveness. TÜV Rheinland, a leading international testing body, has introduced the strictest certification in existence, 90% Blue Light Reduction (90% BLR) certification, now considered the industry’s “gold standard.” This standard requires products to reduce harmful blue light in the 435–440nm range by 90%, while still maintaining brightness and color accuracy—ensuring eye protection without sacrificing display performance. On August 20, Simmpo announced that its new S90 series of screen protectors—including Ultra Clear, Clear Matte, and 9H Impact versions—has officially been certified under TÜV Rheinland’s 90% BLR standard.

Since pioneering blue light testing certifications in 2014, TÜV Rheinland has certified thousands of products offering between 20% and 80% reduction, spanning monitors, mobile devices, and accessories. Now, with digital eye strain increasingly widespread, TÜV Rheinland has raised the bar to 90% BLR certification, ensuring that products achieve powerful reduction in the most harmful wavelengths while preserving visual quality. This milestone represents a major leap forward in screen-protection technology.

Achieving such a standard is not as simple as stacking on more filters. True success requires precision optical design and advanced materials to deliver both strong blue light reduction and faithful color performance. TÜV Rheinland’s evaluation process includes extensive optical testing, long-term durability checks, and strict visual-quality reviews. Tests showed that Simmpo’s S90 protectors reduce blue light by up to 90.89% in the targeted range, while keeping color temperature and transparency at consistently high levels.
