TÜV Rheinland at IPIF 2026
Greater China | 20 April, 2026
On April 14-15, TÜV Rheinland Greater China participated in the International Packaging Innovation Forum 2026 (IPIF 2026), held at the Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center (Bao’an). During the event, TÜV Rheinland demonstrated its comprehensive expertise in sustainability and low-carbon transformation through a series of activities, including a thematic seminar, the presentation of product carbon footprint verification statements, and participation in expert judging panels. These efforts underscore its commitment to supporting the packaging industry’s transition toward high-quality, green development.
At the forum, TÜV Rheinland hosted a dedicated seminar titled “Building a Sustainable Packaging Ecosystem to Drive Low-Carbon and High-Quality Industry Development.” The session addressed key industry challenges, particularly the implementation of the EU’s Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) and the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR).
Leveraging its global technical network and in-depth regulatory expertise, TÜV Rheinland’s specialists provided a systematic analysis of packaging recyclability, restrictions on hazardous substances, supply chain compliance, and innovation pathways for paper-based packaging. By integrating environmental certification systems with full life cycle carbon management methodologies, TÜV Rheinland delivers one-stop solutions that help companies translate international standards into actionable strategies while staying ahead of industry trends.
During IPIF 2026, TÜV Rheinland awarded product carbon footprint verification statements to seven paper products manufactured by Wuzhou Special Paper Group Co., Ltd. These products include glassine paper, tracing paper, digital printing paper, food packaging paper, offset paper, and packaging paper. This enables the company to gain a clear understanding of its product carbon emissions and better meet the sustainability requirements of overseas markets.
In addition, Mia Miao, Project Engineer of Sustainability Services for TÜV Rheinland Greater China Softlines & Hardlines , was invited to serve as a judge for the forum’s “Blue Star Program,” an initiative aimed at identifying and nurturing innovative and sustainable projects within the packaging industry. The program focuses on cutting-edge innovation and green transformation, promoting collaborative development across the value chain and accelerating the commercialization of breakthrough solutions.
