TÜV Rheinland presents certifications for robot products at IFA 2026

Greater China | 15 September, 2026

During IFA 2026, held September 4-5 in Berlin, TÜV Rheinland presented certificates and verification statements to several robotics companies. The projects covered market access, cybersecurity, mechanical and functional safety and product performance for robots, consumer exoskeletons, home service robots and outdoor autonomous mobile robots.

Hüseyin Derman, Regional Sales Manager of Products Europe at TÜV Rheinland, attended the presentation ceremonies.

As robot products expand into global markets, product safety, cybersecurity, verified product performance and regional market access are becoming increasingly important to manufacturers' international expansion. The certificates and verification statements presented at IFA demonstrate TÜV Rheinland's range of testing and certification services for different robotics applications and target markets.

Robot exports face broader compliance requirements

Robots combine mechanical operation, wireless connectivity, software control, intelligent interaction and artificial intelligence. Their compliance requirements are expanding from electrical, mechanical and functional safety to include cybersecurity, product performance and the reliability of data used to support performance claims.

Because product functions, use cases and target markets vary widely, manufacturers need to coordinate regulatory reviews, testing, certification and launch planning early in research and development. This approach can improve the efficiency of global market access.

Home service robots: Assessments address key consumer priorities

Consumers shopping for robotic vacuum cleaners often focus on cleaning effectiveness, resistance to hair tangling, suitability for homes with pets and stability during extended operation. TÜV Rheinland uses objective testing to quantify and assess these characteristics, helping consumers better understand product performance and giving manufacturers data to support product improvements and differentiated market communications.

TÜV Rheinland presented the following certifications and verification marks to ECOVACS products. The DEEBOT X12S Pro Omni (ZJS2570) and DEEBOT X12S OmniCyclone (ZJS2618) received "Effective Deep Cleaning" and "Anti-Hair Wrap" certifications. The DEEBOT T90 Max Pro Mini (ZJS2576 and ZJS2633) received "Anti-Hair Wrap" certification. The DEEBOT T90S Pro Omni (ZJS2583) and DEEBOT T90S OMNI (ZJS2641) received "Pet Friendly Cleaning" and "Anti-Hair Wrap" certifications. These two products also received a verification mark for continuous operation of at least 168 hours in vacuuming and mopping modes.

As AI functions become more common in home appliances and robots, consumers need clear information about what a product can recognize, how accurately it performs and how those capabilities affect everyday use. Manufacturers also need reliable assessment methods and test results to communicate the practical capabilities of AI functions.

To address these needs, TÜV Rheinland has developed specific testing and assessment programs for AI recognition capabilities. At IFA 2026, TÜV Rheinland presented a performance verification mark for the Mijia Robot Vacuum 7 Max covering its AI recognition capabilities.

Under specified test conditions, the results showed that the product's AI system could:

• recognize more than 200 common household obstacles.

• recognize more than 80 types of household furniture.

• detect up to 47 common stains.

• identify wired earphone cables as thin as three millimeters in diameter.

The project demonstrates the practical application of TÜV Rheinland's AI verification services to smart cleaning products. Quantified third-party test results can help manufacturers translate AI capabilities into verifiable evidence for the market while giving consumers clear and realistic expectations of product performance.

Outdoor autonomous mobile robots: Certification packages address European and North American markets

Robotic lawn mowers are outdoor autonomous mobile devices that combine mechanical operation, wireless connectivity, software control and intelligent interaction. Products intended for Europe and North America may need to meet requirements involving mechanical safety, radio equipment, cybersecurity and regional market access.

At IFA 2026, TÜV Rheinland presented market-access certificates for robotic lawn mowers from Shenzhen Muxin Intelligence Technology Limited, Roborock Technology, and Changzhou Lymow Technology Co., Ltd. TÜV Rheinland developed different certification packages based on each product's features, target markets and launch plans.

The Muxin Mini 500 Robotic Lawn Mower received an ETSI EN 303 645 certificate of conformity, a certificate of conformity under the EU Machinery Directive (CE-MD) and an IECEE CB Test Certificate. The package addresses mechanical safety, consumer IoT cybersecurity and the international acceptance of electrical product test results under the IECEE CB Scheme. In addition to supporting European market access, the package provides a basis for applications in other countries and regions.

Roborock products received the following certificates:

• RockNeo Q2 LiDAR received certificates of conformity covering Regulation (EU) 2023/1230 on machinery (CE-MR), CE-RED DA and ETSI EN 303 645, as well as cTUVus certification for the United States and Canada.

• RockNeo Q1 Series received CE-MD, ETSI EN 303 645 and CE-RED DA certificates of conformity.

• RockMow Z1 Series received CE-MD, ETSI EN 303 645 and CE-RED DA certificates of conformity, as well as cTUVus certification for the United States and Canada.

By conducting different certification projects in parallel, TÜV Rheinland helps manufacturers plan compliance pathways based on product functions and target markets and coordinate launch schedules across product lines.

The Lymow One Plus received certificates of conformity under the CE-MD and CE-RED, cTUVus certification for the United States and Canada and U.S. Federal Communications Commission certification. The package addresses European requirements for mechanical safety and radio equipment, as well as product safety and radio-frequency requirements in the United States and Canada. It provides a compliance foundation for market access and subsequent sales activities.

Smart robots: AGIBOT receives RED and cybersecurity certificates

TÜV Rheinland presented AGIBOT with a Notified Body certificate for the A3 Ultra robot under the EU Radio Equipment Directive (CE-RED). The certificate also covers the cybersecurity requirements of Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2022/30 (CE-RED DA).

AGIBOT's A2, X2, G2, D1 MaxPro and C5 robots previously underwent relevant testing and certification by TÜV Rheinland, reflecting the continued collaboration between the two companies.

Consumer exoskeletons: Hypershell X Series receives performance verification statement

TÜV Rheinland presented a performance verification statement to Hypershell for its new end-to-end integrated Hypershell X Series consumer exoskeletons, including the Pro S, Max S and Ultra S models. The statement covers power-assist response time and human-machine coordination efficiency.

Under specified test conditions, the fastest power-assist response time recorded for the Hypershell X Series was 0.31 seconds, 64.5% shorter than that of the previous generation.

To assess human-machine coordination, TÜV Rheinland compared gait data collected with and without the exoskeleton and analyzed how closely the device's assistance matched the wearer's movement rhythm. The series achieved a gait synchronization rate of up to 97.5% across the conditions tested. TÜV Rheinland also conducted user experience assessments and collected feedback from wearers to further evaluate the timeliness of the assistance and the smoothness of movement coordination.

Technical support from R&D to market access

As robots expand from the home into industrial, outdoor and human-machine collaboration applications, product safety, cybersecurity and reliable performance are becoming important foundations of global competition.

TÜV Rheinland will continue to monitor developments in international regulations and standards. Drawing on its global testing and certification network and local service capabilities, the organization provides robotics companies with technical support for R&D, testing, certification and market access, helping innovative products enter global markets more efficiently.
