TÜV Rheinland Issues the First IEC 63209 TOPCon Certifcation, Marking a Milestone in PV Industry
Greater China | 21 December, 2023

Recently TÜV Rheinland, an international independent third-party testing, inspection and certification services provider, issued the first-ever certification for photovoltaic (PV) modules under the IEC 63209 standard, achieved by DMEGC Solar. This certification marks a significant milestone in the PV industry, showcasing DMEGC's commitment to excellence and TÜV Rheinland's dedication to promoting sustainable energy solutions.
The IEC 63209 standard, established by the International Electrotechnical Commission, is a rigorous benchmark for assessing photovoltaic module expansion stress. The updated IEC 63209-1:2021 standard includes comprehensive evaluations such as performance, environmental adaptability, safety performance, and durability tests, ensuring the highest quality and reliability of PV modules.
The N-type Modules from DMEGC Solar were subjected to a variety of rigorous tests under the IEC 63209-1:2021 standard. These included thermal cycling, damp heat tests, mechanical load tests, ultraviolet composite tests, and PID tests. The test results showcased the performance of the modules, with a decay rate notably below the standard set by the IEC.
This certification not only underscores the superior quality and reliable performance of DMEGC Solar modules but also sets a new benchmark for the PV industry. TÜV Rheinland's certification of DMEGC Solar modules under the IEC 63209 standard is a testament to our commitment to fostering innovation and sustainability in the energy sector. As the industry evolves, TÜV Rheinland continues to support advancements in technology and quality, ensuring a brighter and more sustainable future.
