TÜV RHEINLAND ITALIA OBTAINS ASEFA RECOGNITION FOR E.V. READY CERTIFICATION (RECHARGE OF ELECTRIC VEHICLES)

29.09.2021Pogliano Milanese (MI)

TÜV Rheinland Italia obtained the E.V. READY certification, enabling its laboratory to carry out tests on charging stations and systems for electric vehicles, in addition to various components such as plugs and sockets.

The READY brand - which aims to provide the highest safety and performance standards for the electric vehicle market - verifies the interoperability and communication between electric (or hybrid) vehicles and charging stations, and certifies their correct and safe operation.

The brand - developed and advocated by the automotive group Renault, Nissan, PSA and Mitsubishi -is one of the most widespread protocols in the European market, required above all for the French market. Furthermore, its further development is expected in the coming years due to the increase of electric vehicles in circulation.

"Obtaining the E.V. READY certification is part of TÜV Rheinland's project for the development of its Power Electronics department. This entails the upgrade of the laboratories of the technology center in Pogliano Milanese (MI), which are equipped with reliable and cutting-edge equipment to carry out all the tests required ”, explains Marco Piva, Local Field Manager of TÜV Rheinland Italia for the Solar & Commercial Products business unit. "With this recognition we will be able to offer customers and companies in the sector an additional service, supporting them even more in accessing the French electric vehicle market, and furthering our position in international markets".

In particular, TÜV Rheinland Italia will be able to carry out tests in compliance with the EN / IEC 61851-1, EN / IEC 61851-23 and IEC 61851-21-2 standards for conductive charging systems for electric vehicles, and with the EN / IEC 62196-1 and 62196-2 standards for plugs, sockets and connectors for the conductive charging of electric vehicles.
