TÜV Rheinland Italia: new wheel laboratory.

In July 2019 TÜV Rheinland Italy inaugurated its new wheel laboratory, in the headquarters of Pogliano Milanese (MI).

This investment is part of the program to strengthen of existing test laboratories, in order to increase the kind of tests carried out, develop new market sectors by satisfying customer needs and reducing test execution times.

A further increase in the capacity of tests that can be carried out is represented by the installation of a new double station Radial Rolling Fatigue test machine, which is therefore able to test 2 wheels simultaneously.

The wheel laboratory of TÜV Rheinland Italy is accredited ISO 17025 for laboratory tests according to ECE R-124 and StVZO §30 (German National Standard), it is able to perform the necessary tests in accordance to the Italian regulation for the approval of wheel systems (DM 20 - NAD), to several international standards (SAE J175, ABNT NBR 6752: 2013, etc.) and to various manufacturers' specifications.

The laboratory allows TÜV Rheinland Italy to hold a leading position in the national market, thanks also to its state-of-the-art equipment, including:

  • 4 Bending Fatigue Test machines (Bending moment max 15 kN and max size 26 ").
  • 1 Rolling Fatigue Test Machine, double station (Radial Load max 50 kN).
  • 1 Impact Testing Machine (maximum impact mass 1000kg).
  • 1 Dye Penetrant Inspection chamber accordingto DIN EN ISO 3452-1.
