TÜV Rheinland Presents Green Product Mark for Kimberly Cookware in Ambiente

03-13-23Greater China

In February 2023, TÜV Rheinland, an international independent third-party testing, inspection, and certification organization, presented Green Product Mark certification to Kimberly Group Limited’s Ever Spring Collection non-stick aluminum cookware (referred to as "Kimberly"), a leading manufacturer of non-stick aluminum cookware, at Ambiente in Frankfurt. Kimberly is the first cookware manufacturer globally to receive this certification. The presentation ceremony also marked the first appearance of TÜV Rheinland-certified green cookware at an international consumer exhibition.

Han Zhiping, Kimberly's CEO, and Sven Sellmann, TÜV Rheinland’s Regional Sales Manager Europe, Business Stream Products, attended the certification ceremony. Sven Sellmann presented Kimberly with the Green Product Mark certification, stating that "Kimberly is a market leader in eco-friendly cookware. This certification demonstrates the potential and opportunities for sustainable cookware in the consumer market, reflecting the ideals of sustainable development."

Han Zhiping added, "Kimberly is committed to researching and developing eco-friendly cookware. This certification recognizes our company's philosophy of sustainable development and product quality while promoting our environmental protection efforts."

The Ever Spring Collection includes a fry pan, deep fry pan, and sauté pan, each designed with a non-stick coating that is compliance with EU regulations, ensuring that food doesn't stick to the surface while eliminating any potential health hazards.

During the certification process, TÜV Rheinland audited the source and proportion of recycled aluminum claimed by Kimberly for its products in accordance with ISO 14021 standards. Additionally, the organization evaluated and measured the products' carbon footprint from raw materials, manufacturing, and transportation to the finished items per ISO 14044 and ISO 14067 standards. The results showed that Kimberly's claimed aluminum recycling ratio was in line with international standards, with the use of recycled materials directly reducing greenhouse gas emissions and environmental pollution.

Sustainable development has become common wisdom among manufacturers and consumers in recent years. TÜV Rheinland has been committed to promoting the application of sustainable development and environmental protection concepts in the global consumer product industry. By promoting Green Product Mark certification and other sustainable development initiatives, TÜV Rheinland is leading the global consumer product industry toward sustainability and environmental protection. This green product certification for cookware will further promote the development of eco-friendly cookware and support companies in achieving their sustainable development goals. We will continue to support manufacturers in promoting the application of green and environmentally friendly concepts in consumer products and jointly promote the vigorous development of the global green economy.
