International Photovoltaic Forum on 18 and 19 February 2020 in Cologne
The world's leading international forum for photovoltaic module technologies and applications will take place from 18 to 19 February 2020 at the Cologne Marriott Hotel in Cologne. For the third time now, TÜV Rheinland, in cooperation with EnergyAgency.NRW (EANRW), is organizing the PV Module Forum featuring international experts. In six different thematic blocks, PV cell and module technologies, the rapidly growing economic role of PV, the characterization of PV modules, quality and reliability, special applications such as floating solar systems, and the use of PV in agriculture are covered.
"New developments in PV cell and module technologies are the focus of the two-day conference. Aspects such as quality, reliability, quality assurance and standardization will be discussed", says Florian Reil, Chairman of the Forum.
Renowned international experts will give two days of lectures on PV modules for future-oriented applications and newly developed approaches for the advanced energy rating of PV modules. In addition, practical and economic topics such as field and operational experience as well as developments in the solar market are covered. These include insider reports from the operation of floating PV, agricultural PV applications and even perovskite power plants. “We are very pleased to once again organize a globally oriented forum with international participants, which will evaluate current trends and feature the latest PV technologies”, emphasizes Reil. Technical experts, manufacturers of PV modules and PV components, planners, project managers, decision-makers, builders and operators of PV power plants as well as investors and asset managers are addressed.
"If we want to achieve the internationally agreed climate targets for 2050, a massive expansion of renewable energies will be necessary in the next three decades. There has been an enormous expansion of photovoltaics worldwide in the last twenty years. However, a further increase in expansion figures is essential. The advantages of the dual use of land in integrated PV, or the prospects of a possible energy-related re-use of lignite areas through renewable energies, are currently being discussed", says Carl-Georg Graf von Buquoy, head of the photovoltaics section of EnergyAgency.NRW, which together with the EnergyResearch.NRW cluster is jointly responsible for the content of the event.
"In cooperation with an international advisory board, we have put together a very comprehensive and trend-setting program", emphasizes Florian Reil. The six session topics focus on the increasing importance of photovoltaics, PV module technologies for future-oriented applications, quality and reliability, advanced methods for PV energy rating, PV field experience and international standardization activities.
