In cooperation with Energy Agency NRW, TÜV Rheinland is hosting the "PV Module Forum 2019", the world's leading forum on PV module technologies and applications, in Cologne. Now for the second time, on February 12 and 13, 2019, the industry event will continue the tradition of the Photovoltaic Module Technology Workshop of previous years on an international level and in English.

“The two-day conference will focus on the latest developments in module and component technology” explains Florian Reil, Chairman of the PV Module Forum. International experts will discuss matters of PV module characterization and new methods of analysis, as well as reliability and practical applications. The trends and changes as well as the rapid developments in the global PV markets, and critical technological and economic factors are other key topics.

“I am very pleased to once again be organizing a globally oriented event on solar technology around the module and its components”, emphasizes Reil. At the Forum, technical experts, manufacturers of PV modules and PV components, planners, installers and operators of PV power plants as well as decision makers, investors and asset managers will find current trends and the latest information on PV modules – compressed into an international format.

“Even though the majority of solar module production takes place abroad, German mechanical engineering still plays a decisive role in the manufacture, quality assurance and monitoring of modules. Therefore, such an event with the leading minds from the solar industry simply makes sense to exchange ideas about the future module technology, explains Carl-Georg von Buquoy, Head of photovoltaic section of Energy Agency NRW.

“Together with an international committee, we have been able to attract top speakers and are looking forward to a two-day event where we will present specialist knowledge and networking opportunities", says Florian Reil. Six sessions over two days will highlight and cover PV cell and module technology, the characterization of PV modules, quality and reliability, but will also address experiences in the field, quality assurance and standardization as well as aspects of climate change.
