Saudi Arabia flag

Following the ‘Saudi Arabia Vision 2030’, the ‘Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO)’ has set two strategic objectives, as part of the related ‘Saudi National Transformation Program 2020’:

  1. Build consumer confidence in products sold in the market.
  2. Guarantee the fair trade between the buyer and the seller.

The Saudi Food & Drugs Authority (SFDA) has appointed TÜV Rheinland as a notified body. As such, we issue Certificates of Conformity for food & cosmetic products consignments exported from specific countries to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Market and in order to safeguard consumers.

Relevant products have to be in compliance with specific SFDA standards, per individual product. A Pre-Shipment Inspection (applicable for food products only) compares the consignment with the shipping documents, and verifies physical requirements / labelling requirements. Upon succesful document evaluation and Pre-Shipment Inspection, the Certificate of Conformity (CoC) will be issued. For cosmetics, an eCosma-Number is required and to be displayed on the CoC.
