Initial situation and requirements
Vestas Blades Deutschland is one of seven blade factories manufacturing blades for Vestas turbines around the world. The factory in Germany was converted for the production of the next generation of 55-meter rotor blades. To ensure that staff had the appropriate skills and knowledge required for handling the facility’s new machinery and equipment, they required a range of specialist training programs for 500 personnel within a short time.

We provided the company’s staff with comprehensive training and development, enabling them to acquire the skills they needed to operate and maintain the equipment and machinery in the new Lauchhammer facility. We created two new service technician training programs for wind energy plant and rotor blade maintenance.
As a major component of the rotor blades is carbon fiber, we developed specific training in carbon fiber reinforced plastics, along with professional education for plastic processing technicians. We also provided general training, including gantry crane, electrically instructed personnel and safety certificate contractors (SSC) training.
