Initial situation and requirements

The ISO 50001 standard is intended to provide organizations with a recognized framework for integrating energy performance - L0 into their management practices. Multinational organizations have access to a single, harmonized standard for implementation across the organization with a logical and consistent methodology for identifying and implementing improvements. The energy management system (EnMS) allows integration with other existing organizational management systems such as environmental, quality, health and safety.

To obtain the ISO 50001:2011 certificate, our experts carried out “in-situ” energy express inspection to analyse consumption and energy losses and to identify energy saving opportunities. Based on the initial state determination and the diagnostics of existing EnMs, our expert team created an action plan to manage company energy policy as well as integrate the new energy management system and other management systems already in place.

During the 12-month project, TÜV Rheinland provided extensive training and consulting services. Project activities included an introductory seminar presenting the general concept and basic requirements of ISO 50001 to top managers as well as training of NIS EnMS internal auditors to be able to perform internal EnMS audits in accordance with the techniques and methods related to the ISO 50001 standard.

Thanks to comprehensive EnMS services, the company successfully achieved certification of its energy management system in accordance with the international ISO 50001:2011 standard.
