The independent inspection agency TÜV Rheinland has certified the
energy management system - L0
of the two largest German plants of Procter & Gamble (P&G) in Euskirchen and Crailsheim according to the current international standard ISO 50001. The goal is to be able to control the energy consumption more accurately and to realize savings in consumption.
In contrast to selective energy conservation, the management system of a company permanently helps to increase efficiency. Employees at all levels of the company are involved. That’s how P&G specifically trains its employees with regards to energy saving. Prior to the successful certification, auditing teams from TÜV Rheinland carefully analyzed the processes on-site at the various locations of P&G for a week.
With over 13,000 employees in Germany and around 126,000 employees worldwide, P&G is one of the biggest consumer goods companies in the world marketing around 40 brands in Germany and numerous more worldwide.
Given the energy scarcity and rising energy costs, the issue of energy management for both medium-sized as well as large companies is becoming increasingly important. Thus an energy management system according to ISO 50001 not only offers the foundation for greater
