TRIS is seeking a degreed Mechanical Engineer with PE stamp for a full-time role in Pittsburgh, PA area.

Qualified candidates would have some of the following experience / certifications / proficiencies:
  • Leading the work for a destructive / metallurgical testing laboratory including machining equipment
  • CWI Certification
  • PE Stamp in Pennsylvania
  • Mechanical Testing Including:
‒ Tensile Testing
‒ Charpy Testing
‒ Fatigue Testing
‒ FEA Analysis
‒ Structural Design
‒ Bend Testing
  • Metallurgical Testing of Steel
  • Chemical Analysis of Steel
  • Weld Metallurgy
  • Testing of Railroad Bearings
  • Failure Analysis
  • Knowledge of Rail Road Industry
  • Knowledge of Bridge / DOT Industry

All TRIS inspectors are required to complete a pre-employment criminal background check, and to submit to pre-employment, for-cause, and random drug testing, as well as client-specific screening. All screenings will be conducted in accordance with FCRA and State-specific requirements.

  • Professional Engineer Stamp in Pennsylvania plus stamps in other states preferred;
  • CWI Certification;
  • MS Degree in Mechanical Engineering – for Entry Level Position;
  • BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering - with 5-Years’ Experience;
  • Ability to travel. A valid driver’s license is required.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and documents such as codes, standards, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in a laboratory / office / or on-site manufacturing / construction location.
