Duties

Candidates with experience in electrical NFPA/UL standards and code requirements are sought to work with our clients.

Local candidates (Florida-based) are sought; relocation is not eligible. This role requires 90% travel.

Field Evaluation Services Inspectors inspect electrical systems and equipment to ensure compliance with work plans, specifications and state, provincial and local codes, laws and ordinances and UL/CSA standards.


PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Inspect and test electrical systems and equipment for compliance with state and local codes, laws and ordinances.
  • Inspect all electrical work upon completion and issue field evaluation labels and test reports giving final approval or inform customer of required corrective actions verbally and in writing.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports indicating observations of work performed.
  • Review colleague’s inspection reports as required.
  • Conduct inspections and complete reports according to schedule.
  • Meet and exceed customer expectations maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Report expenses and project billing on a daily basis.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Your profile

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

Knowledge, Skill, & Abilities
  • Knowledge of NEC, CES, state, provincial and local codes and laws and UL/CSA standards governing electrical systems and equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical construction plans, diagrams, blueprints and specifications.
  • Ability to use basic electrical equipment.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to travel up to 90% of time. Valid driver’s license required.

Education
  • Post secondary vocational school or Associate Degree in Engineering Technology or equivalent education and/or experience.

Experience
  • 4 years of related experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Office, manufacturing and/or construction environment.
