TÜV Rheinland’s world-class facility in AMTZ, Vizag offers testing of medical and non-medical devices for Biomaterial, EMI/EMC, Reliability, Acoustics & Electrical Safety Testing.

The facility includes the following world-class laboratories to qualify products as per national and international regulations:

  • Largest 10 meter Semi-Anechoic chamber with dual antenna mast, 6-meter turntable with 6 tonnes load capacity, along with a measurement range up to 40GH and complete EMI/EMC capability
  • Precision acoustics facility for measuring sound pressure and sound power from medical and non-medical devices
  • High precision Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) and Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM) to study the finest detail of material up to individual atom level
  • 3D X-ray imaging of equipment with the latest Micro CT equipment and several other state-of-the-art testing facilities

To ensure safe and effective biomaterial products, our Biomaterial Testing Laboratory has a wide range of analytical capabilities to determine the identity, purity, and biosafety of a growing number of biomaterials using the latest testing methodologies. We offer Total Quality Assurance expertise to help you meet safety and quality standards as per local and global regulations.

Our EMI/EMC Laboratory with American A2LA accreditation provides a comprehensive range of EMI/EMC testing and certification services for products and components related to a wide range of industries and sectors including medical, IT, telecommunications, commercial, industrial, household, laboratory, lighting, wireless, automotive vehicles, and electronic sub-assemblies, as per international and local regulatory requirements. The facility is operated round the clock by experienced and qualified experts, enabling service delivery with quick turnaround times meeting expected quality parameters.

At our Laboratory, we perform Reliability Tests that are used to analyse functionality as well as the breakdown phase of electrical products under varying environmental conditions during transportation, storage, handling, and operation. Products are exposed to extreme temperatures, rapid variations in temperature, salt spray and salt fog, intense humidity conditions, wet environment, fungus, vibrations (airborne and structural) as well as accelerations. The facility is equipped with a 3 axes high-end combined vibration setup where we can simulate both vibrations along with temperature variations. TÜV Rheinland’s Reliability Testing services cover all industries including commercial, industrial, electronic sub-assemblies for consumer electronics, household, medical, lighting and wireless.

TÜV Rheinland’s Electrical Safety Laboratory is capable of testing electronics and IT products, medical/ IVD devices, audio and video equipment, thermoplastics, household, and other electrical products. Our tests include protection against solid foreign objects, hazardous objects, and liquids. All tests are performed on a range of parameters as per national and international standards.

Since our lab is available next door, medical device manufacturers and incubation hubs based within the AMTZ campus can reduce the overall product developmental lifecycle, logistic charges, and time to market. TÜV Rheinland acts as a one-stop-solution for the manufacturers within the zone as well as this part of the country to have their products tested and certified as per national, international, and design specific requirements.
