MEIGaN - Medical Electrical Installation Inspections

TUV Rheinland UK have engineers who are trained to inspect permanent electrical installation of medical devices and associated equipment in diagnostic imaging (including dental X-ray units) and radiotherapy rooms/suites, according to the MEIGaN requirements. Healthcare organisations and medical devices suppliers  who are responsible for these installations  should include as a condition of contract that 'the electrical installation shall meet the requirements of BS 7671 IEE Wiring Regulations, MEIGaN, HTM 2007 and BS EN 60601-1-1:2001, according to MHRA guidelines.' 

TUV Rheinland UK offer inspections to these requirements and will issue a TUV certificate of conformity on successful completion of the audit. The audits can be repeated annually and a certificate of conformity issued to confirm the ongoing compliance of the installation.
