Japan S-Mark

TÜV Rheinland is pleased to offer the well-known Japan S-Mark, in accordance with the Steering Council of Safety Certification for Electrical and Electronic Appliances and Parts of Japan (SCEA).

Japan S-Mark provides an effective and user-friendly way to introduce an electrical or electronic product into the Japanese Market.

According to this certification scheme, TÜV Rheinland is now able to issue the Safety Certification Scheme (S-Mark) in the well-known design in addition to the existing TÜV Rheinland proprietary S-Mark.
Japan S-Mark satisfies manufacturer and importer demands for evidence of safety and conformity according to Japan’s DENAN law, while offering higher market acceptance of distributors and retailers.
Both S-Mark schemes offered by TÜV Rheinland for the Japanese market are voluntary, and can be applied to a wide range of electrical consumer products (e.g., household, audio, video and/or IT equipment).

In addition to the above S-Marks, all TÜV Rheinland offices hold the Certificate of Conformity (CoC) for Category B products under Japan’s DENAN law in their service portfolios.

Incorporating all services provided by TÜV Rheinland into a “one-stop testing” concept will ensure maximum benefits. A single inspection of your product reduces both cost and time – and more importantly – reduces the stress of navigating your way through international legislation and product safety compliance.
