Second edition of the course on Functional Safety
16.01.2012Milano
After the great success that has characterized the first edition, TÜV Rheinland Italy proposes the course entitled: "The IEC EN 61508 First Edition and the IEC EN 61511 Second Edition - Functional safety of programmable electrical / electronic systems: from project to management ".
The course is highly technical and specialized and aims to provide engineering companies, professionals, manufacturers of equipment and components, project managers and safety equipment specialists the necessary information to properly implement the guidelines contained in the international Standards EN 61508 IEC 61511 Ed. 2 and Ed. 1 related to the functional safety of components and safety systems that are increasingly used in various industrial sectors. Particular emphasis will be given to the changes introduced in the new 2010 edition of IEC EN 61508 regarding the implications for both manufacturers of safety components (valves, actuators, PLCs, etc.), engineers and end users.
In particular, the course, lasting two days, will cover the following topics:
- The EN 61508 and IEC 61511 Ed 2 and Ed 1: fundamental aspects: the SIL and Lifecycle. - The Safety Manuals;
- The risk analysis as a preliminary stage of the development of safety systems (allocation): the HAZOP, models of the consequences of accidents, including acceptability criteria - impact on design of security systems and the choice of components that compose them;
- The aspects of reliability and mathematical methods used to calculate the PFH and PFDavg components and security features.
Of greatest importance are the teachers of the course, a pool of industry experts including Eng. Giovanni Picciolo - TÜV Rheinland Qualified Teacher (FS EXPERT) 65A IEC Past President, Member of IEC 61511, Eng. Pasquale Fanelli - TÜV Rheinland Qualified Teacher (FS EXPERT) - INVENSYS, Eng.
