New CEI - 021 Standard concerning the connection to Low Tension Electrical grids.

13.01.2012Milano

Back to overview

On December 23rd the long-awaited CEI 0-21 was published (Reference technical rules for connecting active and passive users to networks low-voltage electricity networks of energy providers). The legislation contains all the requirements and how to connect to the BT network in Italy. In addition to this, it indicates the modes of test to verify and certify the static converters (PV inverters) which must be installed in the Italian electricity grid.

The CEI 0-21 replaces the "Guide for electrical connections to the network of ENEL Distribution."

The changes compared to the previous regulations "Guide for electrical connections to the network of ENEL Distribution."" are the following:

- Active and reactive power control;

- Introduction of LVFRT capability (low voltage fault trough right) - capacity of the inverter to withstand voltage sags;

- Introduction of new requirements on SPI (Security System Interface);

- SPI news on the threshold and response time, connection time;

- Requirements on the DC component in output on the network side;

- There are two thresholds.

TUV Rheinland's laboratories, with reference to the CEI 0-21, are able to offer manufacturers a full service of technical consulting, testing and certification of their products.
