In the year 1873, the inspection engineers of TÜV Rheinland, in that time called "Organization to inspect steam boilers", started to work together with entrepreneurs, public authorities and manufacturers, providing a service of technical inspection to monitor the security of steam boilers. Since that time, the service range has been expanded permanently, following the technical development.
