TUV Rheinland offers a service to assess and certify Websites in order to protect the personal information handled in websites. This program increases user trust in and reliance upon website service.
Although this program is based on OECD 8 principles, the program has no certification standard and the certification is based on self assessment of conformity with these basic principles. It is, therefore, relatively easy way to demonstrate the Personal Information Protection Law handling efforts.
The certified websites will be able to display the TRUSTe logo, be able to take advantage of our on-line complaint processing program, be surveyed by regular site reviews, and be automatically covered by privacy infringement insurance.
