JIS Q 15001 (Personal Information Protection)

JIS Q 15001

JIS Q 15001 is a management system standard to implement personal information protection and has been established in 1999 as a Japan Industrial Standard called, "Compliance Program for Personal Information Protection." Now 2006 version has been available since May of 2006 as "Personal Information Protection Management System" and has even closer relationship to the Personal Information Protection Act in Japan. This standard covers all personal information, no matter how it is obtained, no matter if it's customer's or employee's. Privacy Mark Scheme run by JIPDEC (Japan Information Processing Department Corporation) in Japan is based on the same standard.
